Why is H2Only more expensive than going to a refill / u-fill place?
Let's come right out and say it: yes, you can indeed get bottled water for as little as $2.50 per 5-gallon bottle. So why does H2Only cost more than going to a refill location to pick it up?
Three reasons:
1. Our water quality:
Our passion is pure water. At three parts per million of total dissolved solids in our water (3 PPM TDS), you would be hard-pressed to find cleaner r/o water anywhere. Do yourself a favour: check labels or ask.
How does H2Only get it so clean? Nine stages of filtration, purification, and sanitation:
- 1x ion-exchange
- 3x carbon filters
- 2x micro-filtration
- 2x reverse osmosis
- 1x ultra-violet sanitation
The resulting water is not just filtered, not just clean. It is purified. It is quite likely you have never tasted water this pure!
As well, we produce fresh water daily. We drain our tanks at least once a week and empty the shop of filled bottles approximately every other day. Do you ever wonder how long ago the bottles in the store were filled? Would the manager be able to tell you?
2. Our level of bottle care:
The maintenance of our bottles between deliveries is essential for two reasons. Firstly, it allows us to control the sanitization of the bottle and helps us ensure that our water ships in the cleanest vessel possible.
Secondly, our team's level of care with the bottles from cleaning through storage and delivery allows us to re-use the bottles again and again, which is an essential component of H2Only's environmental consciousness.
Why doesn't H2Only have a U-fill station?
People often ask why we don't let customers fill their bottles at our facility. Simply: because we cannot control the condition of the bottles being filled. The storage of peoples' bottles in the shed, garage, shop, or laundry room (which we see all day every day) is not an ideal sanitary situation. Bottles get dirty. Just how clean is a quick rinse at a refill station going to get that bottle? Not nearly clean enough. Given how pure we get the water, if that water then goes into a bottle that isn't equally clean, it rather defeats the whole purpose.
We have a professional bottler whose full-time job is cleaning, sanitizing, filling and inspecting the bottles, and maintaining the environment and equipment used to do so. If a bottle is too dirty, it will be hand washed and scrubbed first. Was the bottle used for anything other than water? Is there is a build-up of algae? Is it filthy? We won't send it out again: We recycle it. (Note: we may charge a deposit in this situation)
3: H2Only is a delivery service
The single biggest reason H2Only bottled water costs more than a u-fill is that we deliver.
Being a delivery service includes office staff and infrastructure to take your order, organize scheduling and bring you your delivery. Trucks to deliver your order. Staff to load those trucks and make those deliveries. Wages, fuel, maintenance, licenses, registrations. And the list goes on. But none of that needs to concern you at all.
The convenience of delivery takes several tasks off your plate, namely the time and effort of getting your bottles out to the store and "cleaned", filling them, and then lugging full bottles back to your home or business. Instead, you get to make a phone call or fill out an order form on our website.
Everything is done for you: the washing, the filling, and the delivery. All that's left for you to do is drop the bottle on your cooler, and your job is complete knowing you have the best possible water ready to serve.
Pure, fresh water in sanitized bottles, brought right to your door. It couldn't be simpler or more convenient and, as our many customers readily attest, ordering from H2Only is worth every penny.
